Crime Analyst Responds to Accusations of False Degree

September 7, 2016

A Harris County toxicology witness may have given false testimony in a decade’s worth of DWI cases. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office notified defense lawyers earlier this week that Dr. Fessessework actually has a Masters in Physiological Studies rather than a Master’s in Toxicology. What’s even more unusual is Dr. Fessessework’s degree actually comes from a veterinary school in Ethiopia. Dr. Guale has now released a statement regarding the allegations saying: “I did not lie. It’s just a misunderstanding. I actually told the truth.” She goes on to say that, “My Masters is in Physiological Sciences in which toxicology is a sub-discipline of.” She maintains she’s board certified in forensic toxicology and that the effects of alcohol in animals is the same as humans. However, the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association (HCCLA) is asking for the DA to charge Dr. Guale. Tyler Flood, partner at Tyler Flood & Associates, Inc. and president of HCCLA, stated innocent defendants may have gone to jail thanks to Dr. Guale’s testimony. As of now, the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is currently retraining Dr. Guale. The District Attorney’s Office has made no attempts at chagrining Dr. Guale.
